Drilling jack up rig Perro Negro 6 sank off Angola

Perro Negro 6   The drilling jack up rig Perro Negro 6 hit the bottom with one of its three legs and suffered sufficient hull damages, causing water ingress and sinking of the vessel. The accident happened near the mouth of the Congo River between the coasts of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. During the accident on board of the jack up drilling rig Perro Negro 6 there were 103 crew members, as one of them is missing and other six have minor injuries. The missing crew member of the drilling jack up rig is from Bulgarian nationality, as searching for him is still in progress. The other crew members abandoned the ship on lifeboats and were rescued by the emergency center, as all seamen were transported into the hospital for examinations and treatment of the injuries. The local authorities started search and rescue operations for the missing seaman, which engages 2 boats and 1 helicopter. A few minutes after damage of the hull and water ingress the jack up drilling rig Perro Negro 6 sank on depth of 40 meters. The local authorities monitor for any pollution, but such signs are still not seen.
